A man was taken into custody by Maskwacis RCMP on Tuesday evening in the Montana First Nations area following his alleged involvement in a shooting.
Mounties had earlier warned the public about a significant police presence in the Montana First Nations region as officers conducted a search for the individual.
The incident took place at approximately 5 p.m. that day and is considered targeted.
The Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team, along with Wetaskiwin RCMP, supported the operation.
Police indicated that an update is expected once charges are laid.
