NAIT Treaty Days Gears Up to Celebrate Indigenous Culture on Campus

NAIT Treaty Days returns to the main campus September 22-24, giving students and staff the opportunity to learn, connect and experience Indigenous culture.

Camille Louis, Manager of Nîsôhkamâtotân Programs and Services at NAIT, tells the Raven the event brings students and staff together to learn about Indigenous culture through activities including tipi raising, beading workshops, Pow Wow dancing and more.

Louis hopes that students leave with a greater curiosity to learn more, while seeing the event as a step towards reconciliation on campus.

• 10 a.m.–12 p.m. — Tipi Raising & Pipe Ceremony
• 12:30–2:30 p.m. — Tea & Bannock | Nîsôhkamâtotân Centre

• 10 a.m.–1:30 p.m. — Drop-in Beading Workshop | CAT Crossing

• 12–12:50 p.m. — Métis Fiddle Playing & Jigging | CAT Crossing
• 1–1:50 p.m. — Pow Wow Dancing & Drumming | CAT Crossing
