CPK presented a cheque to Edmonton’s Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation on Sunday at the CPKC Canadian Women’s Open, held at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club. Additionally, the railway company donated $550,000 to the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation to benefit the CK Hui Heart Centre, as stated in a media release.
The funds raised for the Stollery Foundation will help provide advanced equipment, research, training, and programs for cardiac teams that care for some of the most complex pediatric heart patients in Canada. Meanwhile, the donations for the Royal Alexandra Heart Centre are intended to support ongoing innovation and excellence in cardiac care.
Since its inception in 2014, the Canadian Women’s Open, which is CPKC’s flagship fundraising event, has raised over $31 million for children’s cardiac research, care, and equipment. Through its CPKC Has Heart campaign, the company reports that it has raised more than $78 million for heart-health initiatives.
