The City of Edmonton issued a media release on Friday announcing upcoming changes to 101 Street between Jasper Avenue and 102 A Avenue. Starting Monday, August 24, the city will add a dedicated bus lane and widen vehicle lanes on this stretch of road. This will involve creating a bus-only curb lane for southbound traffic and removing one northbound lane to accommodate two wider lanes. The construction is expected to take one week.
Additional changes will include the removal of on-street parking and loading zones in both directions on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will also be traffic signal adjustments, new pavement markings and signage, and pavement improvements.
Most of the construction will be conducted overnight, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.
