The City of Edmonton and Edmonton Transit Service are once again partnering with United Way of the Alberta Capital Region and Staples to help students in need get ready for the school year through Stuff a Bus for School’s.
With an estimated one in six Edmonton families experiencing poverty, the cost of school supplies can add to financial pressures at the start of the school year.
This year, the program has grown to include neighboring municipalities Strathcona County, Spruce Grove, and St. Albert.
The expanded initiative shows how regional transit collaboration can raise awareness of transit services while delivering a meaningful benefit to local communities.
Building on the success of the annual Stuff a Bus food donation campaign, Stuff a Bus for Schools ensures students have the supplies they need to begin the school year strong.
All donations collected will remain in the communities where they are given to support local students.
How to donate
- In person (until Friday, August 28): Drop off new school supplies at donation boxes in City-run facilities in Edmonton, Sherwood Park, and Spruce Grove.
- Online: Donate through United Way’s All in for Youth website and select “All in for Youth” under the Designate fund section. A minimum donation of $20 is required for a tax receipt.
