Calgary two-piece Miesha & The Spanks, comprised of Miesha Louie and Sean Hamilton, are back with new music.
The winners of the 2024 WCMA for Breakout Artist of the year have released their latest project in an EP called Visions.
Produced by Juno Award winner Hill Kourkoutis – who also worked with the likes of Aysanabee, Royal Wood and SATE – the EP is the follow-up to 2023’s Unconditional Love In Hi-Fi and is filled with raw and catchy destined anthems that cover themes of self-esteem, gender norms, Indigeneity and stoicism.
Louie formed the namesake project in 2008 and cemented the duo with Sean in 2015.
‘Good Boys’ is the focus track of Visions – a hot and heavy examination of what is a good boy, as described by Louie. Rich with riffs and hooks, the infectious four on the floor chorus builds up to a sing-a-long reminder that you don’t have to be a dick.
Darrell Stranger spoke with Miesha Louie about the EP, the vision behind its creation and the tour across western Canada that will accompany the music.
