Edmonton Fire Rescue Services is calling on community-minded individuals to join in the ranks of becoming a recruit as an Edmonton Firefighter. Applications are now open to be accepted until January 31.
Edmonton Fire’s Assistant Deputy Chief of Workforce Support Cheng-Hsin Chang spoke with 89.3 The Raven about his excitement for the recruiting process as the Edmonton Firefighter Service is seeing growth.
Chang says like in past years the process is both tough and competitive with feeling rewarded when going through the procedure of attaining a career as a firefighter.
Chang adds that the big thing in terms of qualities when looking for recruits is individuals that are well-rounded in the high-stressed environment as the process is a demonstration of commitment, resilience, and hard-work, and meeting the challenges is part of the reward on the path to become an Edmonton Firefighter.
