A potential threat at a junior high school Thursday prompted a temporary lockdown.
Maskwacis RCMP Cst Catlin Chiasson said at 9:41 a.m. the junior high principal contacted police after a student shared a message posted to social media about a threat to the school.
A Hold and Secure status was put in place at Maskwacis Cree Junior High, Ermineskin Elementary and Theresa C. Wildcat Early Learning Centre until just after noon.
Police confirm there was no active threat to the school or the public. Students remained at their schools and resumed normal activities.
Mounties say several people have been identified as persons of interest but no arrests have been made at this time.
