A new multi-sport indoor complex has opened in St Albert, giving athletes year-round access to courts and pitches.
The 170,000-square-foot building located at 9 Richardson Drive packs in 15 pickleball courts, 10 volleyball courts, six basketball courts, and two full soccer pitches, all under one roof.
It becomes the third location operated by The Centers. The group already runs a pickleball-and-volleyball site on Edmonton’s west side plus a dedicated pickleball venue in the south.
CEO Michael Dingwall said the expansion directly addresses the squeeze on available space that local players have been feeling.
“All sports right now, especially in a winter climate like in Edmonton, are seeing excessive demand for the court capacity that’s out there, opening up a 170,000-square-foot facility across all sports should help alleviate a lot of that demand and bring a lot of people here and alleviate demand at other locations as well.”
Beyond open court rentals, The Centers North runs its own youth programs and adult leagues while also hosting external groups—everything from small teams and private lessons to larger organizations looking for consistent practice or game space.
The complex will host an official Grand opening celebration on October 10 from 2-7pm.
