Edmonton Public Library (EPL) is proud to welcome Robin Cisek as the new Musician in Residence (MIR). A Métis alt-pop artist from Edmonton, Robin is known for blending edgy electronic music with alternative melodies, powerful vocals, and vulnerable lyrics.
Robin’s music has charted on mainstream radio in Canada and the U.S. (Mediabase), and she has charted seven times on the Indigenous Music Countdown, including number ones for ‘Waiting on You’ (2019) and ‘Goin’ in Blind’ (2025).
“Music has a powerful ability to bring people together, inspire creativity and create a sense of belonging. Robin’s enthusiasm for mentoring new artists speaks to the spirit of community at EPL. Libraries are places where ideas, stories and creativity come to life, and this residency gives Edmontonians a unique opportunity to experience and engage with local music in new ways,” shared Sharon Day, CEO of EPL.
Throughout her residency, Robin will work from the Stanley A. Milner Library, offering free mentorship, one-on-one sessions with musicians, and workshops designed to support local artists develop their skills. Robin is looking forward to helping emerging artists navigate the business side of the music industry, from building their brand to marketing their work.
Robin follows Olivia Street, whose time as EPL’s third Musician in Residence left a lasting impact on Edmonton’s music community. Her dedication to music education has supported and inspired countless aspiring musicians and strengthened Edmonton’s vibrant music scene.
