The community of Inglewood is hosting a pride weekend event called “Back to the Streets” kicking off on September 4, 2026-September 6, 2026 during Calgary Pride week.
There will be LIVE entertainment, local drag shows, market pop-up shops, and food trucks.
Back to the Streets was created by Treaty 7 Dyke & Trans March, Black Pride YYC, Calgary Pride, Cold Garden, and the Inglewood BIA community partners.
Founder + Organizer, James Demers tells, The RAVEN, “Pride did not begin as a branding exercise. It began when queer and trans people took public space together and refused to disappear. The Treaty 7 Dyke & trans March carried history forward with protest, care, practical footwear and no particular interest in behaving quietly. Back to the streets gives the March somewhere to land without asking it to become less political, less dyke or less trans.”
On Saturday, September 5, the Treaty 7 Dyke and Trans March, will carry dyke and trans visibility from The Confluence into Inglewood. From there, the March opens into an all-ages public gathering filled with queer and trans performers, live music, drag, community voices, family programming, and room to gather in public.
