A water supply alert that was issued for the City of Edmonton on Sunday due to heavy rainfall has been lifted.
An advisory released late Monday states that residents of Edmonton can return to their normal routines, as the area’s stormwater systems have stabilized.
Days of continuous rain in and around the city put pressure on multiple stormwater systems, increasing the risk of flooding and sewer backups.
Environment Canada reported that 104 millimeters of rain fell in the city over three days. While the weather is expected to improve, additional rain is forecasted for later this week.
