A rainfall warning has been issued for communities in central Alberta.
According to Environment Canada, heavy rain with total amounts of 50 to 100 mm is expected in some areas.
Rain will begin overnight tonight and will intensify through the day on Saturday.
The heavy rain is set to continue on Sunday, before gradually tapering off that night.
The weather agency issued yellow-level rainfall warnings for areas including the County of Wetaskiwin near Pigeon Lake, Alder Flats and Winfield, as well as portions of Ponoka County near Rimbey, Bluffton, Hoadley and Crestomere.
More serious conditions are expected farther east, where orange-level rainfall warnings have been issued for Fort Saskatchewan, the County of Wetaskiwin, Millet and Highway 2, along with several areas of Camrose County.
