Community members gathered at Churchill Square for the Samuel Bird Memorial Walk to celebrate the life and memory of Samuel Bird. The event brought many people together in remembrance while promoting healing, reflection, and community connection.
Alanna Bird, Mother of the late Samuel Bird, tells the Raven that the event is about more than honoring her son – it also recognizes missing and murdered Indigenous children and supports grieving families through community solidarity.
A feast will be taking place at the Dawson Park from 2 – 4 pm with performances taking place from 4 – 6 pm. For more details on the Samuel Bird Memorial Walk, click here.
