The lineup for the 48th Annual Edmonton Folk Music Festival was released Thursday.
Headliners include Cat Power, Nathaniel Rateliff, Thee Sacred Souls, Arrested Development and Of Monsters and Men.
Indigenous artists scheduled to perform include Tia Wood, Julian Taylor and Brianna Lizotte,
The four-day festival will see 60 artists perform in Gallagher Park from Aug. 6-9.
Terry Wickham, Producer of the Edmonton Folk Music Festival tells The Raven Radio Network that Indigenous artists continue to grow in prominence, with more performers earning featured spots on the big stage.
Wickham highlights the construction of the new ski club building located on the west side of the festival grounds will bring on some traversal challenges by stage five and six, with hopes to incorporate the newly constructed building into the festival in the future.
