The City of Edmonton is now accepting applications for its 2026-2027 Indigenous Artist-in-Residence program, offering a $36,000 paid, part-time opportunity for Indigenous artists to create new work, engage with the community , and showcase their art within the city.
The selected artist will create a new body of work during the residency and share it through a final public showcase. The artist will receive dedicated workspace provided by the City of Edmonton, along with opportunities to contribute to public programming.
This is a paid, part-time residency with total compensation of $36,000. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week over the course of a one-year residency. The start date and workspace location will be confirmed with the selected artist.Applications are being accepted through the Edmonton Arts Council
