A new Canadian rock trio from the prairies of Saskatchewan is making waves across the music scene with their prairie rock sound.
Black Tea draws inspiration from the 70s revival of bands like Rival Sons, Marcus King, The Black Crowes, and fellow prairie rockers The Sheepdogs and their music has nods to British and Southern rock royalty, while still adding a delivery that is unique to them.
Gray Farrow (vocals, keys, bass), Cole Van Woert (guitar, vocals), and Dawson Dressler (drums) have developed a natural chemistry that comes across in their music and live performances.
The trio recorded their debut album, Now That You’re Here in a small log cabin perched on the edge of a valley and is a coming-of-age tale of love, loss, growth, and gratitude that will resonate with rock and roll die-hards and casual listeners alike.
Their live shows are packed with everything from blues standards and timeless classics which fans can experience across the country this spring and summer.
Darrell Stranger caught up with Van Woert to talk about the band’s upcoming shows and the success of their single Living Easy.
