The City of Edmonton Fire crews will be conducting a prescribed burn in Northeast River Valley Park on Wednesday to help mitigate wildfire risk.
Weather pending, crews are expected to close the Northeast River Valley Park while the controlled burn is underway.
The prescribed burn will help reduce wildfire risk and restore health to the ecosystem.
The city says smoke in the area is normal and city crews will be taking measures to reduce smoke impacts to nearby communities.
