The Edmonton Police Foundation (EPF), in collaboration with the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Domestic Offender Crimes Section and the Senior Protection Partnership, are empowering seniors who have endured elder abuse to stride confidently back into the community.
As part of Operation Sole, 40 deserving seniors have been selected to receive a special treat thanks to the generous support of the Allard Foundation. Each senior will receive $280 to purchase a top-quality pair of shoes and clothing at Foot Locker, with dedicated police officers by their side as shopping assistants.
This program not only aims to provide tangible support to seniors but also to foster positive connections with police following challenging experiences. Operation Sole seeks to rebuild trust and confidence in the community that may have been shaken due to past circumstances.
Some local partners have gathered in support with community spirit with various local groups joining forces to ensure the success of Operation Sole.
Luxury car owners and dealerships from all corners of Edmonton are generously providing transportation services to ensure that these seniors can participate without any barriers.
Through these collective efforts, EPS aspires to create an environment where seniors feel safe, valued, and cherished.
