Canada is dreaming big with the announcement of the 27 athletes representing the maple leaf at the 2024 World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas, May 4 and 5.
The squad representing Canada includes members of the men’s 100 metre relay team that has medalled at each of the last two Olympic Games and won gold at the World Athletics Championships in 2022, in addition to world champions and World Athletics Championships medallists, as well as Olympians and Olympic medallists.
Local track stars Malachi Murray and Marco Arop are among the runners named to the team.
Arop , representing the Adidas club, will run in the 4×400 Mens as well as the 4x400m mixed, while Murray will compete in the men’s 4×100 and represent the Capital City Track Club.
Bahamas 2024 represents Canada’s first trip to World Athletics Relays since the 2019 event in Yokohama, Japan.

The top 14 teams at the World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24 will automatically qualify for places at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
