Two more stolen vehicles have been recovered by the Alberta RCMP Auto Theft Unit. Both vehicles are beleive to have been re-vinned and charges have been laid.
In February of 2024 the Alberta RCMP Auto Theft Unit began an investigation into the fraudulent registration of vehicles. On March 6, 2024, RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the City of Edmonton. As a result of the search RCMP seized:
- 2 stolen re-vinned vehicles;
- Vehicle key programmers;
- $7800 in counterfeit currency;
- Stolen mail and cheques;

As a result of the investigation RCMP have charged Edmonton resident David Joseph Wood with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 (x2);
- Possess a forged document (x2);
- Fraudulent concealment (x2);
- Possess counterfeit money;
- Alter Vehicle identification number (x2);
- Possess break-in instruments; and
- Fail to comply with release order;Wood has been taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody with his next court date set for March 14, 2024, at the Alberta Court of justice in Edmonton.
