Willow Lake Metis Nation is set to host their Red Dress Solidarity Walk and Lunch on May 3rd at the Bill Woodward School in Anzac.
The walk is dedicated to honour the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Two-Spirted people lost across Canada for National Red Dress Day.
Rienna Davey from Willow Lake Metis Nation spoke with CFWE as she speaks on what the community can expect when they attend the Red Dress Solidarity walk in Anzac.
Davey hopes that those who plan to attend ask questions along with showing their support for the families and the friends that have been affected by losing loved ones, and by honoring those that are missing or have been murdered.
Davey adds that people can show their support by wearing red, with either shirts, dresses or pins, as shirts will be given out at the Bill Woodward School in Anzac.
Davey says it’s powerful to see everyone come together in previous years showing their support and honoring those affected and lost on their Red Dress Day Solidarity Walk.
