With an increased risk of wildfire due to dry conditions and high winds. Leduc County has issued a fire ban.
No outdoor fires are allowed – including open burning and fires contained to approved burn barrels, firepits or charcoal barbecues – and all outdoor fires currently burning must be extinguished immediately. The discharge of fireworks is not allowed.
All fire permits are suspended, and no new fire permits will be issued for the duration of this ban.
Residents can use cooking and heating appliances, including barbecues, firepits and patio heaters, that are fueled by liquid fuel such as propane or natural gas.
Fire officials will continue to monitor conditions, and will update the public at leduc-county.com and albertafirebans.ca when the ban is lifted or downgraded.
A Fire Advisory is also in effect for the City of Fort Saskatchewan. No open burning allowed. Fire Pits are permitted ONLY if they are in compliance with the Fire Services Bylaw
