The Edmonton Oilers and forward Corey Perry have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with an average annual value (AAV) of $775K plus performance bonuses.
Perry (6’3”, 208 lbs, 38) brings 1,273 games of NHL experience to the Oilers lineup along with 421 goals, 471 assists and 1,392 penalty minutes. A former Maurice “Rocket” Richard and Hart Trophy winner in 2011, the two-time first-team NHL All-Star was a first-round NHL Draft selection (28th overall) of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in 2003.
Following 14 seasons with the Ducks, Perry saw duty with the Dallas Stars in 2019-20, the Montreal Canadiens in 2020-21 as well as Tampa Bay (2021-2023) before being traded to Chicago last June.
The right-shot Ontario native has also suited up in 196 playoff games over 15 NHL postseasons tallying 53 goals, 71 assists for 124 points. Hoisting the Stanley Cup with Anaheim following the 2006-07 campaign, Perry also appeared in three straight Stanley Cup Finals with Dallas, Montreal and Tampa Bay.
