A man was rushed to hospital by air ambulance after being attacked with a weapon on Louis Bull First Nation late Tuesday, and two people now face attempted murder charges.
RCMP were called to the community around 11 p.m. following reports of an armed assault. Police say the victim managed to escape his attackers and sought refuge at a nearby residence, where he phoned 911.
A STARS air ambulance transported him to hospital. He has since been discharged.
Investigators believe the attack was an isolated incident, noting that the victim knew the people who assaulted him. Officers located and arrested both suspects at a home in the area shortly afterward.
The accused, 35 year old Catlin Ermineskin and 40 year old Marcel Littlechild are each charged with:
- Attempted murder
- Aggravated assault
- Armed robbery
- Forcible confinement
- Failing to comply with a release order
Both are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
