Dempsey Bolton is an independent alternative pop artist originally from Edmonton who now calls Calgary, A.B, home. His music draws inspiration from modern-day artists like Zanski, Dominic Fike, and Jack Garratt, alongside legendary musicians he grew up listening to, including Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.
While completing his degree in astrophysics at the University of Alberta, Bolton began producing demos in his spare time between classes. After graduating, he decided to put his master’s degree plans aside and pursue music full-time.
He released his debut single, “What About You,” in 2019.
On April 10, 2026, Bolton released his third album, IN THE PRESENCE OF GIANTS, featuring “Giants” as the lead single.
Jackson caught up with Bolton to discuss the new album, the story behind “Giants,” and what listeners can expect from him in 2027.
