Ground has been broken on a brand-new grocery store in the Loon River Industrial Park—an important milestone for Loon River First Nation in Northern Alberta.
This project goes far beyond constructing another commercial building. It marks a decisive step toward greater self-reliance and improved health for the community.
Remote northern communities have long struggled with limited access to consistent, high-quality fresh food. Placing a full-service grocery store close to Red Earth Creek directly tackles that challenge.
According to the Nation, people living throughout the surrounding area will all have easier access to fresh produce, everyday necessities, and other essential goods.
