Kickstand is an organization that provides free therapy and support for mental health, substance use, and more, tailored to young people aged 11-25 across Alberta.
The organization has resources available for youth to access for anxiety, depression, trauma, and more—both virtually and in-person, with no waitlists.
Kickstand is relaunching More Good Days, a free program that sends a supportive message directly to young people’s phones every day, designed to help them feel less alone and better supported through everyday challenges.
Kickstand says four in five participants in the previous run of More Good Days reported the program helped improve their overall mental well-being.
Executive director Katherine Hay says because the program is delivered entirely by text, it’s available to young people across the province, including young people living in communities where accessing in-person mental health and wellness supports may be more difficult.
Hay spoke with Darrell Stranger about More Good Days, the reason for bringing it back and how Kickstand is looking to keep expanding throughout Alberta.
Young people can sign up for More Good Days by texting MoreGoodDays to 855-450-2266.
