Edmonton is once again the stage for the Canadian Finals Rodeo, drawing more than 40,000 spectators into Rogers Place as the country’s top competitors battle for championships over the next several days.
After a temporary move to Red Deer that began in 2018, the event came home in 2024 to the city that had welcomed it every year since the CFR launched in 1974.
Alberta has committed $4.5 million across the next three years to keep the finals firmly rooted in the capital, building on last year’s performance that injected roughly $32.4 million into the local economy.
“The Canadian Finals Rodeo is a major sport event that strengthens Alberta’s economy and tourism sector by attracting visitors, supporting local businesses and showcasing our province on a national stage,” said Andrew Boitchenko, minister of Sport and Tourism. “Alberta is, and will always be, rodeo country.”
Running October 7–10 at Rogers Place, the competition features eight events spanning both rough-stock and timed disciplines, among them bull riding, saddle bronc and bareback riding.
