Crystal Shawanda is an Ojibwe Potawatomi blues and country music artist from the Wiikwemkoong First Nation on Manitoulin Island, Ontario. Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades, including being the first Indigenous woman to win the Canadian Country Music Award for Female Artist of the Year in 2009. In 2013, she also won the JUNO Award for Aboriginal Album of the Year for her album “Just Like You.”
On July 21, 2026, she released her new song “Come Unto Me,” which is the first single from her newest album “Homesick Indian Blues,”. The full album was released on August 28, 2026. Crystal is currently on tour, with a scheduled stop at the Badlands Amphitheatre in Drumheller on September 12.
