Roots and Relations Indigenous Market Coming to 95th Street

Indigenous artists, artisans and community members will come together this weekend for the Roots and Relations Indigenous Market on 95th Street. The two-day event will feature local vendors, beading, crocheting, ribbon skirts and shirts, woodwork and more.

Joseph René De Meulles, District 9 Captain of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government tells the Raven he’s excited for the upcoming market, adding that the cultural centre on 95th Street helps to bring community together through events like the Roots and Relations Indigenous Market.

De Meulles says that community members and non-Métis  citizens are welcome to attend to learn about the Métis culture in a warm welcoming environment while supporting local.
