An Edmonton man was killed in a crash in Parkland County early Thursday morning.
At approximately 6:18 a.m., Parkland RCMP were dispatched to a collision between a motorcycle and pickup truck at Highway 627 between Range Road 273 and 274.
Upon arrival, it was determined that the motorcyclist, a 69-year-old male resident of Edmonton, was deceased.
The sole occupant of the pickup truck, an 82-year-old male resident of Spruce Grove did not sustain any injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
A 21-year-old woman also died in a crash in Strathcona County early Thursday morning.
RCMP say she was one of four people in an SUV that rolled and landed upright in a water-filled ditch near Range Road 214 and Township Road 524 around 12:30 a.m.
The 21-year-old woman driving, a 21-year-old female passenger, and a boy whose age was not disclosed rescued themselves and called 911, reporting that they could not find the fourth person in their group.
Firefighters found her trapped beneath the vehicle when they removed it from the water. She died from her injuries in hospital.
