The intersection at 12 Avenue west of 111 Street in Edmonton has officially reopened after a 10- week closure.
According to a statement from the City of Edmonton and the design-build contractor Ledcor, this reopening marks a “major construction milestone” for the Capital Line South LRT extension project. The project involved work on drainage, utilities, roads, and tracks.
The Capital Line South LRT extension will provide additional travel options for residents in the southwest and south Edmonton communities. Similar construction work is set to begin in mid-August on 9 Avenue, also west of 111 Street, and is expected to last approximately 10 weeks.
During this time, traffic will be redirected to the newly reopened 12 Avenue.
