Jordan Martinook is bringing the Stanley Cup home.
The Carolina Hurricanes forward will share hockey’s most famous trophy with his hometown on Monday, August 11.
The event will take place at the Leduc Recreation Centre from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The City of Leduc announced that fans can begin lining up at 9 a.m., with access through the centre’s east entrance.
Martinook, 33, was born in Brandon, Manitoba, but grew up in Leduc.
He played his minor hockey in the community, suiting up for the U15 and U18 AAA Leduc Oil Kings.
After playing with the Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League and the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League, he was selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2012 NHL Draft.
Martinook is in his 11th NHL season and serves as an alternate captain with the Hurricanes.
