The LRT service in Downtown Edmonton and the Muttart Conservatory was disrupted early Wednesday morning from a collision, Edmonton Police stated that the accident happened around 5 a.m. at 100 St and 102 Ave.
Authorities say the white Jeep was speeding on 100 Street before it struck a curb, and spun into a pothole at 102 Avenue.
The driver was treated and transported to hospital with serious injuries. Police say the LRT that operates at this intersection was not struck and there were no other injuries.
Edmonton Transit Service stated in a social media post saying that bus contingency services between Downtown and Muttart is being arranged for commuters.
The investigation is ongoing.
