The annual Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament is set to take place in Edmonton from June 28 to July 5. This eight-day event brings together the top 9- to 10-year-old hockey teams from across North America to compete at the Ice Palace in West Edmonton Mall.
Andy Wigston, the Executive Director of the tournament, tells Raven Radio Network that the event was founded in 1990 by Bill Comrie, who is also the founder of the Brick Warehouse.
Wigston noted that in the first year, there was only one American team, but the number of teams wanting to participate has continued to grow significantly over the years.
