Canadian Rock Band Nickelback have placed their names amongst Canada’s most celebrated artists at the Canada Music Hall of Fame.

Their smash hit “How You Remind Me” was named Billboard’s ‘Top Rock Song of the Decade’ as has over 1.2 million spins on any radio format in the U.S. alone.
On June 25, at a private ceremony at the Canadian Music Hall of Fame on the fifth floor in Studio Bell in Calgary Alberta, which is home to the Hall of Fame. Chad Kroeger, Ryan Peake, Mike Kroeger, and Daniel Adair placed Nickelback’s name amongst Canada rock legends like the Tragically Hip, The Band and Trooper who last May, placed Trooper’s name just below where Nickelback placed their plaque in the Hall of Fame.
As part of being inducted to the Canada Music Hall of Fame, The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) released a grant of 15-thousand dollars on behalf of Nickelback which is given to a primary school to help develop their music program including the purchasing of new instruments and equipment. The recipient of this grant was the Piitoayis Family School in Calgary Alberta.
Allen Reid CEO of The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences/The JUNO Awards and MusiCounts spoke about the grant and introduced Nickelback to those in attendance.
Chad Kroeger shared how much it meant to not only join the Hall of Fame but to do it only two hours away from their home town of Hanna Alberta.
The ceremony was also special for Mike Kroeger as he celebrated his 51 birthday the day of the ceremony.
After the ceremony in the Hall of Fame a public Q & A session was held with the public in Studio Bell. Nickelback will be wrapping up their Canada stops of the ‘Get Rollin’ tour and make their way down to the U.S. At the induction, Kroeger did let slip that a Documentary about the band is currently in the works and more information is to come.
You can see the Nickelback exhibit on the fifth floor of Studio Bell along with the Wall for the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Studio Bell will be having free admission on July 1 as part of their Canada Day celebration.
