It may only be three months into 2026 but Oji-Cree artist Aysanabee is already off to a fast start to the year.
The two-time JUNO Award winner was on tour internationally, has been nominated for two more JUNO’s this year and announced another upcoming album Timelines out April 10 that will also see him tour in North America and Europe.
The EP features stripped-back, reimagined songs drawn from across Aysanabee’s three releases – Watin (2022), Here and Now EP (2023), Edge of the Earth (2025).
He released Dream Catcher on January 19 and another song from the upcoming EP Home has just been released on March 11.
The EP’s recording approach reflects how many fans first discovered his music in the early days of his career, when he played hundreds of shows across Canada and around the world armed with only his guitar, his voice, and his stories.
Ahead of the tour and EP release, Aysanabee will attend the 2026 JUNO Awards in Hamilton, where he’s nominated for not one but two awards: Alternative Album Of The Year & Contemporary Indigenous Artist Or Group Of The Year for Edge of the Earth.
He has also been announced as a performer at the JUNO Songwriters’ Circle.
Aysanabee will be in Alberta for three shows in Canmore April 9, Calgary April 10 and Sherwood Park on April 11.
He spoke with Darrell Stranger about the hot start to his year and the excitement of what’s to come.
