The Town of Stony Plain’s new recreation centre is expected to be finished by the end of the year.
When completed, the facility will provide much needed amenities for the entire Tri-Municipal Region, including a Six-sheet curling rink, Dryland fieldhouse with turf field, pickleball courts and multi-purpose sport courts, Indoor walking and running track, Change rooms and lounge & Administration offices.
According to the town, the Centre will play a pivotal role in regional health, leisure and social interaction, fostering connections, nurturing community spirit and enhancing the sense of unity among residents.
“The regional Community Recreation Facility is more than just a space for physical activity. It is a place where residents can connect, build community, and foster a sense of belonging,” say Mayor William Choy. “This is exciting for the region, I look forward to celebrating the opening of the facility with the community in 2026.”
The town says that construction is on budget to date, with roughly 47 per cent of the overall project completed.
