Kicking Off the Season with Gingerbread & Community Spirit
The Raven and CFWE team had the privilege of joining the 2025 Holiday Campaign Launch & Gingerbread House Showdown at the Edmonton Expo Centre. This fun-filled event brought together teams from across the city to build creative gingerbread houses – all in support of the Christmas Bureau’s programs. We’re thrilled to share that our team won the Shining Star Award for our gingerbread creation! It was a sweet way to start the season and support a cause that truly makes a difference.
Celebrating 85 Years of Giving: Edmonton Christmas Bureau & How You Can Help
The holiday season in Edmonton wouldn’t be the same without the incredible work of the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton. For 85 years, this non-profit organization has been dedicated to one mission: providing festive meals and holiday joy to individuals, families, and seniors in need. What began in 1940 as a small community effort during WWII has grown into a city-wide tradition supported by 90+ social service agencies, 800+ volunteers, and countless donors. Last year alone, they provided over 49,000 people with a holiday meal and gave more than 6,000 teens gift cards through their Adopt-A-Teen program.
Why Their Work Matters
For many Edmontonians, the holidays can be a difficult time. Rising costs and financial strain mean some families face the season without the comfort of a warm meal or gifts for their children. The Christmas Bureau steps in to ensure that everyone can experience the dignity and joy of the holidays. Their programs include:
- Festive Food Hamper Program – Nutritious holiday meals delivered to families and individuals.
- Adopt-A-Teen Program – Gift cards for teens aged 13–17, often the most overlooked age group during holiday giving.
How You Can Help
There are many ways to support the Christmas Bureau:

- Volunteer: From packing hampers to helping at events, volunteers are the heart of this organization.
