
Parkland RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male who approached a 12-year-old girl and allegedly attempted to lure her into his vehicle.
RCMP said the incident took place on Highway 779 near 48 Street in Stony Plain in the afternoon hours of Sept. 8.
According to RCMP the girl was riding her scooter home when a white SUV with gold rims and slim profile headlights pulled over beside her.
The male suspect allegedly told the girl that her mother sent him to pick her up and tried to get her to enter his vehicle.
An adult in another vehicle stopped behind the suspect and asked the 12-year-old girl if she was okay which led the white SUV suspect vehicle to speed away.
Police are looking to speak with the unknown male as part of the investigation. The male is described as:
- 40 – 50 years old;
- Fair complexion
- Greyish black beard (beard a couple inches long) ;
- Wearing sunglasses with blue lenses.
Police would also like to speak with the adult witness and any other witnesses who may have information regarding this investigation.
Anyone who may have dash-cam video in the area of 48 street and highway 779 on Sept. 8 between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm are asked to report to police as they may have captured the incident or the suspect vehicle.
