On May 26 89.3 the Raven was LIVE on location with Rellik, who broadcasted the afternoon Tribe Drive show from the midway to kick off Beaumont Days.
The festival has been taking place in the City of Beaumont, which is approximately a 40-minute drive south of Edmonton.
For over 50 years, the festival has been taking place in the city which has roots going back to agriculture shows and as time moved on, with major growth in the city, the festival as evolved alongside it.
Today, the celebrations take place in various locations across the City which include: the Midway Fair hosted in the Community Rec Centre’s parking lot and a street party downtown. For businesses in the downtown area of the city, the festival brings many in the community out creating heavy foot traffic for the various stores and restaurants located in the downtown core.
Other that took place over the weekend include soap box car races, agriculture show, pancake breakfast made by the local fire station and City Council, and the evening of May 27 ending with a firework display.
Beaumont Days taps into Alberta’s tourism industry which brings visitors to the city to experience the festival firsthand and journey to Beaumont for the first time.
The Midway experience was brought by Wild Rose Shows which will be traveling around Central Alberta supplying various fairs with rides and games during the festival season. More information can be found on their website website.
