The City of Edmonton has activated its extreme heat protocol, as temperatures are supposed to hover around 30 C.
According to the City, when daytime temperatures are expected to be above 29 C, and 14 C or higher during the night, for three days in a row, the city implements an action plan to help keep vulnerable people safe.
Edmonton has access to 28 water stations attached to fire hydrants that are available 24 hours a day.
The protocol is in effect until Saturday, but could be extended if necessary.
