Alberta Health Services (AHS) says a person with a confirmed case of measles in Edmonton was at the Grey Nuns Hospital over the weekend.
People who were at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Units 51, 52, 53, 43 and the Emergency Department may have been exposed from June 25-28 from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. each of those days.
AHS added another person was at the Stollery Children’s Hospital Emergency Department on July 2 from 7:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. as well as the University of Alberta Hospital foyers in between 112th Street and 114th Street Entrances on July 2 from 7:15 a.m. to 4 p.m.
They should self-monitor for symptoms of measles and are strongly encouraged to review their immunization records.
The province reported nine new measles cases in the province, with one in the Edmonton health zone.
That brings the total number of measles cases in Edmonton up to 10, the lowest in the province.
Six new cases were seen in the north zone, bringing the area’s total up to 291. The south zone has seen the most cases with 738 this year.
There have been 1,169 measles cases in Alberta since the beginning of 2025.
