
Devon Days
The Town of Devon is set to host a jam-packed weekend as part of its annual Devon Days celebration. Devon Days started on June 4th and will run until Sunday, June 8, with festivities highlighting the town’s 75th anniversary.
Friday, June 6
The weekend kicks off with “Devon’s Got Taste” from 4:30 to 10 p.m. on Main Street. Over 20 food and artisan vendors will serve up meals (typically $8–$12), with $1 tickets used for purchases.
The Midway also opens Friday and runs throughout the weekend. Wristbands are $50 for unlimited rides on Friday and Saturday, and $30 on Sunday. Single tickets are $1 each.
Beer Gardens at Pocket Park will be open from 5 to 10 p.m., while live jazz can be heard at the Legion BBQ from 5 to 8 p.m. Burgers will be served for $6.
Later in the evening, local act The Nico Tobias Band performs at Après Ink starting at 7:30 p.m., joined by flash tattoos and a Mutual Sinners pop-up.
Saturday, June 7
The day begins with a Charity Breakfast at the Fire Hall from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. ($7 per person; kids under 6 eat free), supporting Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
The Devon Days Parade marches down Athabasca Avenue starting at 10 a.m., followed by the Family Fun Fair at Devon Community Church from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., including a petting zoo, games, bouncy castles and food.
The Main Street Market runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the Midway open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The ASA Strongman Competition returns on Huron Street from 1 to 4 p.m.
That night, adults can dance the night away at the Cabaret at the Arena, featuring Slow Walkin’ Walter from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Entry is $15 at the door.
Sunday, June 8
Start the day with the Lion’s Pancake Breakfast at the Lion’s Campground Chalet from 8 to 11 a.m. ($10 for adults; free for kids under 10).
The Show & Shine Car Show takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Community Centre — attendees are encouraged to bring a food bank donation.
Centennial Park hosts Sunday in the Park from noon to 4 p.m., with live music, games, obstacle courses, food trucks, and beer gardens.
The ASA Strongman Competition wraps up with another round from 1 to 4 p.m., and the Midway runs one final time from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The Raven spoke with Suzanne Houlton, vice president of Devon Exhibition association and talked more on what people can look forward too this year.
Houlton speaks on the different artists bands that are coming out to play as well as Slow Walkin Walter which is the #1 highest rated cover band in the Country!
Houlton talks on how its an event all ages enjoy and how people from all over out of town come see.
