An 18-year-old was arrested following a stabbing in downtown Red Deer on December 29.
In a news release Wednesday, police said that a 43-year-old man was found around 10:29 p.m. at 49 Avenue and 53 Street in Red Deer with injuries consistent with a bladed weapon. Police said medical treatment was given to the man but he died a short time later. On Monday morning, police identified the man as Anthony Spiller.
Officers attended the scene and arrested 18-year-old River Roan, who was charged with second-degree murder.
Roan has been taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with his next court date set for Jan. 2, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
