The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced late last night they will be recalling baby and whole organic carrot brands sold at multiple grocery stores due to E. coli contamination. The Canada-wide recall includes Compliments, President’s Choice, Bunny-Luv and Cal-Organic brands.
The CFIA recall comes 24 hours after a similar instance in the United States, after 39 people became sick and one person dying as a result.
If you have organic carrots from Compliments, PC, Bunny-Luv or Cal-Organic brands in your fridge, with best before dates ranging between Aug. 14 and Nov. 12, they could be contaminated with E. coli.
If anyone expects to have an item recalled in their fridge or pantry, they’re encouraged to throw it out without hesitation. Anyone who has a recalled item can return it to the grocery store for a full refund.
