Artists from across the world will gather in Edmonton for the Fringe Theatre Arts to perform at the 43rd annual Edmonton International Fringe Festival. With more than 200 performances, there will be performances, music and art for the whole family to enjoy.
The Edmonton International Fringe Festival is the largest longest running Fringe in North America and rank among the top 5 in the world. The vibrant success of the Edmonton Fringe Festival is thanks to the more than 43,000 Artists who have bravely taken an artistic risk with us since we exploded onto the scene in 1982.
Murray Utas is the Artistic Director for Edmonton’s Fringe and spoke with Windspeaker Media discussing how the Fringe operates, ensuring the artists receive 100% of the ticket profits and making sure all Edmonton residents can access the arts.
With many Art Organizations feeling the financial pinch of the last few years, Edmonton’s Fringe is no exception. Utas said if there’s any year for Fringe fans to show their support to the arts, it’s this year.
The festival will go on from August 15 to 25, and tickets are available starting Wednesday at the box office or through their website.
