The Lakeland Country Fair will be honoring the late Billy McDonald in a Memorial Rodeo from July 12-13th at the Lac La Biche AG Grounds.
Aurel Langevin, president of the Lac La Biche Agricultural Society speaks on the excitement of this year’s rodeo as it will honour Billy McDonald, as he was known for being one of the top Rodeo promoters throughout the county and the province of Alberta.
Langevin says McDonald was the definition of a gentleman with Rodeo in his blood, and highlights the many rodeos that allowed amateur rodeo riders test their skills and allowed them to grow within the rodeo scene.
Langevin states that part of the ceremony, the known Lac La Biche AG Rodeo Grounds has officially been renamed the Billy McDonald Rodeo Grounds with a sign that is hung at the announcers booth, that signifies his legacy within the Lac La Biche Agricultural Society and the rodeo scene within Lac La Biche County.
