Driftpile Cree Nation is in mourning after council member and community leader, Starr Felix Sasakamoose Sr was found dead on Monday.
26 year old Starr Frederick Sasakamoose Jr was arrested at the scene. He has been charged with first-degree murder.
Lakeshore Regional Police officers responded to a home in the community at approximately 6:45 p.m. When they arrived Sasakamoose Sr. was already dead.
Police did not provide a cause of death or clarify what the relationship is between the victim and the accused.
Sasakamoose Jr. has been remanded in custody. His next court date is set for Monday at the High Prairie Court of Justice.
